The lightsaber is the iconic weapon of the Jedi, a blade that is used to slice through enemies and blast doors. This weapon is made from a single strand of carbon fibre and can cut through anything. It can even be used to deflect blaster bolts and is extremely powerful.
Green
Green lightsabers have played a pivotal role in the “Star Wars” universe. Not only do they look slick and impressive, but they are also durable, fun, and cheap. As a result, they are a great way to get into Star Wars culture without breaking the bank.
It’s no secret that the best Jedi have green lightsabers. But did you know that colour also represents an essential and significant aspect of the Force? It is the same colour used by Jedi Consulars.
The colour green represents the ability to regenerate, as well as the ability to grow. So a Jedi with a green lightsaber may be able to control the Force, which is a big deal.
Other colours of the lightsaber have significant meanings as well. The blue lightsaber, for example, represents a Jedi who values the physical aspect of the Force.
Although it might seem that the green lightsaber is the most critical colour, it’s not the most common. Two other colours Jedi used are considered more critical: purple and white lightsabers.
However, the green lightsaber is the most recognisable of all. So while there are better choices than the new blue-green colour, it does make sense for Rey. Similarly, the Star Wars Galaxy has explored several different types of lightsabers, and the most popular ones are the emerald and lime lightsabers.
Blue
In Star Wars, the blue lightsaber is the symbol of the Jedi. It serves as a protector and an allegiance to their combat training. Blue is also used by Jedi Guardians, who defend the Jedi Order.
In the original trilogy, Obi-Wan Kenobi had a blue lightsaber. The blade was made of brighter metal but still contained the kyber crystal. This kyber crystal is a conduit of the Force that connects the blade’s plasma beam with the Force-wielder.
There are many other colours of lightsabers. Red, for instance, is a powerful signifier. It is because red evokes warning lights and blood. But, unfortunately, it is also the colour of the dark side.
Green is another colour regarded as a sign of strength. Therefore, the green lightsaber is a good choice for a knight with good intentions. However, it is unsuitable for a Jedi Knight who wants to fight evil. Fortunately, there is a more sensible alternative.
Purple is another colour that can be deemed a worthy winner. It is the colour of a powerful weapon but is rarely seen. Only one character, Mace Windu, uses the purple lightsaber in the current canon.
A purple blade can be found in several live-action and animated Star Wars shows. Other examples include Kirak Infil’a, Eeth Koth, Bultar Swan, and Stass Allie, and all these characters are skilled and adept at wielding a blade.
However, another colour stands out as the most impressive: the orange lightsaber. Its colour is less potent than the previous two, but it makes sense for Rey’s story.
Purple
In the Star Wars universe, the purple lightsaber represents both the light and dark sides of the Force. The lightsaber’s colour is based on the crystal used to construct the blade. This crystal is most often made from a mixture of red and blue. However, it is also made from other colours.
Purple is a colour of wisdom and royalty. It is also a potent signifier of power. Initially, the colour was used to represent the Jedi class, the Jedi Guardians, and the Jedi Consular.
Mace Windu was the only Jedi to wield a purple lightsaber. He was a great Jedi but also felt darkness inside of him. Eventually, he overcame his night and became a powerful Master.
Although Windu’s lightsaber is the most famous, others also use the purple saber. Those who carry the lightsaber are known for their wrath of war, their passion, and their dedication. They are also regarded for their innate Force abilities.
Purple lightsabers are not easily obtained. Their elusive nature means that the crystals they contain are rare.
Magenta
The Magenta lightsaber is a rare blade colour. It is believed to have appeared during the Old Republic era.
In the Star Wars Canon, the magenta lightsaber is one of eight options available to the protagonist Cal Kestis. It has a double-bladed design, which allows it to spin rapidly. In addition, a single beam of energy can be emitted, which means it can be used for more ferocious attacks.
Besides its appearance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Magenta lightsaber is also seen in a few comic books and is mentioned in the Legends series. This type of blade is a rarity and has been largely only seen in a few games.
Some theories claim that the blades are derived from a super-rare Kyber crystal. Others believe that magenta is the colour of the sky after a beautiful sunset. While these ideas are not definitive, they are exciting.
Magenta is a powerful colour. In addition to its significance as a signifier of the dark side, it can represent the concept of harmony and compassion. Alternatively, it may mean the idea of unconventionality.
Mara Jade is one of the most famous for wielding a magenta lightsaber. She started as a member of the Hand of the Emperor. But she eventually became the wife of Luke Skywalker. Later, she became a Jedi Master.
Mara Jade had the opportunity to use a purple lightsaber, but she did not. Rather, she received the Magenta lightsaber in 10 ABY.
Translucent
The purple one gets top honours when it comes to the best lightsaber. Aside from the fact that it has the highest durability of any lightsaber in existence, it is also the lightest. That said, it has a high price tag. But that is not the only reason this sword of the gods is not your average Jedi samurai’s weapon of choice.
While at it, check out the umbrella lightsaber. It was created by an unknown Sith lord and is only spotted in the non-canon 2d animated series Star Wars: Vision. Besides being the awesome tiniest lightsaber in the galaxy, it is also among the sexiest.
The umbrella lightsaber might be a gimmick to the casual observer, but it is no slouch regarding the number of blades it carries. It is especially true when you consider it a replica of the original, except for a single extra edge. On top of that, it also contains the elusive unicorn: the ability to fire off a powerful blast of electricity. In addition, it is the only lightsaber in the known universe to have this particular feat.
There are many other lightsaber tidbits in the galaxy, but the translucent lightsaber is undoubtedly in the running. Not to mention the fact that the umbrella lightsaber is an exciting addition to the finest lightsabers of all time.
